It can be used as a crib, changing station or toddler bed. With the addition of a sofa bed extension kit, it can be transformed into an actual bed. It won't feed your baby or magically make them sleep, it will rock them and send them off!
The Chicco Next2Me Magic
This is one of the more expensive models, but it comes with a lot of features. It can be used either a side-sleeper or a standalone crib, and is suitable for infants ranging from birth to six months. It's easy to open and close the side panel with a new mechanism. It's also more adjustable than its predecessor, having 11 different height levels and retractable feet for a secure fit under any bed.
Our testers appreciated the ease of access offered by the side panel, that can be moved up and down with one click of a button. This was especially helpful in the evening when feeding time was over, since they could reach in and pick up their baby without waking them.
The side panel can be lifted on its own however, it's not advised as it increases the risk of your baby falling out of the cot. But, the patented safety locking mechanism ensures that it can only remain in place if it is connected to the parent's bed correctly. This feature can be very beneficial to have peace of mind when you are breastfeeding and need frequent night feeds.
The Chicco Next2Me Magic is designed to be compatible with any bed, including divan bases and beds with drawers thanks to the legs that can be telescopic. It comes with a tilting function for babies with reflux, as well as an option to rock to calm them after a meal. It is also very spacious and has excellent ventilation due to its mesh sides.
The Next2Me Magic was easy to use and set up for our testers, despite the lengthy instruction manual. It's heavier than some of the other side-sleepers but it's still very mobile and can be moved from room to room easily. It's also able to fold into a travel bag, which is a great option when you need to transport it. The only issue our testers found was that the side panel didn't flex as much as some of the other models, making it difficult to see your baby from your bed.

The Shnuggle Air bedside crib is a great choice if you want an infant crib that will grow with your child. It's a crib for co-sleeping that can be attached securely to your bed and can be turned into a stylish cot when your baby is old enough. It is ideal for feeding your baby at night and strengthening the bond between you and your baby's new.
In contrast to other models of bedside cribs The Shnuggle Air is built with breathability in mind. The mesh side panels with dual-view and airflow mattress that is hypoallergenic and breathable allow for maximum airflow, keeping your baby cool and comfortable. A gentle incline can help to ease reflux and colic, while the zip down side allows you to feed or soothe your baby at night.
The cot conversion kit is also well-designed, with clear instructions. It includes everything you need. It took us around an hour to put together and was reasonably straightforward. The only issue with the instructions was that certain images were not captioned. This made it difficult to follow. However, overall it was a simple process and the quality of materials used was high.
In the co-sleeping mode, we found the Shnuggle Air to be an ideal choice for breastfeeding mothers and women who have had a c-section because it lets them comfortably reach out to their newborn to feed and comfort them without having to leave their bed. It's ideal for parents who do not want to go through the hassle of putting their baby in a traditional cot, or getting them out of it.
The motion of gliding was found to be very helpful in lulling babies into sleep after feedings during the midday or at night. The drop-down side is also accessible to feed or soothe babies during the middle of the night, which was a real selling point for our exhausted test moms. Although it doesn't rock or come with extra features such as an audio system, the Joie Roomie Slide's elegant design and practicality are a welcome addition our top crib reviews for bed.
